Dorothy Jean Spivey Crockett

Dorothy Jean Spivey Crockett, 79, widow of Jessie Franklin (Frank) Crockett, Sr. entered into her heavenly home on February 12, 2020 at home with family by her side.

 

She was born on March 22, 1940 to the late Vernon and Addie (Pryor) Spivey. Dorothy spent her adult years in sweet conversations in her hair studio which she based out of her home to better serve her family. During later years, she enjoyed time spent with her husband of 56 years watching UK Basketball or taking a day trip.

 

She leaves to mourn her passing two sons, Jessie F. (Emily) Crockett, Jr and Steven Crockett (Donna Miller), both of Paris. Three grandchildren: Robert Crockett, Richmond, KY; Deanna (Laura) Kendall, Pueblo, CO; Darren (Amelia) Bratton, Paris. Five great-grandchildren: TJ Tolliver, Richmond, KY; Wesley Sexton, Paris; Kayelee Bratton, Poseyville, IN; Kaleb and Alexandrea Bratton, both of Paris. One sister, Marsha (Mike) Vance, Paris. Four sisters-in-law: Brenda (Nadeem) Chowdhury, of Texas; Lena (Earl) Yeary, of Indiana; Betty Giddens of Florida and Glenna Arthurs of Paris. A special caregiver, Kay Turner and many nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to her parents and husband, she is proceeded in death by three brothers: Ike Spivey, Vernon Spivey, Jr., Ricky Spivey. Two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Thorpe and Betty Ishmael. Four brothers-in-law; Floyd, Russell, Willis Jr and Bobby Crockett.

 

Funeral service will be held at Hinton Turner Funeral Home, 526 Pleasant Street, Paris, on Monday, February 17, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. with Don Menke officiating. Burial in Evergreen Memorial Gardens following the service.

Visitation will be held Sunday, February 16, 2020 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

 

Carrying beloved Dorothy to her final resting place are TJ Tolliver, Darren Bratton, Jason Bailey, Jeff Bailey, Timmy Spivey and Tracey Thorpe.

Honorary pallbearers are Dorothy’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
