Gary Kenneth “Scootie” Lawrence

Gary Kenneth “Scootie” Lawrence, 49, husband of Tuyhiep Monica Garcia Lawrence, died Tuesday October 6, 2020 at the University of Louisville Medical Center.
A native of Paris, KY, he was the son of Diane Michelle Lawrence Shaw and the late George Kenneth Black, Jr.  He was a salesman and a member of the St. Stephens Baptist Church, Louisville, KY.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by a grandmother, Nora F. Harris; one brother, Bruce A. Shaw, Jr.; one sister, Paranita Black; step grandmother, JoAnn Black; three very special friends, Corey Davis, Marc Miller and Henry Howard and a host of aunts, uncles,  nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by grandfather, George Kenneth Black, Sr., grandmother, Mary D. Dorsey; aunt, Sylvia Black and Sister, Kim Wheeler.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 17, 2020 at the Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home, 1120 Main St., Paris, KY by Rev. Dr. Morgan Gilkey and Rev. John Reese.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 17, 2020 until the hour of service at the funeral home.
