Shelby Joanne Woodward (Crouch)

Shelby Joanne Woodward (Crouch), 86, of Paris, who loved to be called “Mimi” by her grandkids, departed her loving family on January 2, 2021.

Joanne was born on August 22, 1934 to Anna Tout Crouch and Shelby Thomas Crouch and was raised in Little Rock, Kentucky. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Dolores Stewart.

Surviving is her husband, Howard Woodward; her three children, Phillip Thomas Crump (Vickie), Dianne Woodward Garrison (Brent), and David Howard Woodward (Paula), as well as one stepdaughter, Tami Woodward. Also surviving are her six grandchildren, Casey Dungan, Weston Dungan, Samantha Speakes (Jon), Jacob Garrison, Emily Garrison, Shelby Wilson (Mike); and ten great grandchildren.

Joanne worked in banking for many years in various roles. She loved keeping up with all her banking customers and knew everyone by name. She loved to play the piano and work crossword puzzles. Her love of words came from being a proofreader early in her career at the Paris Newspaper, The Dailey Enterprise.

A private graveside service will be held for Shelby Joanne Woodward at Paris Cemetery with Rev. Jeff Bell officiating.
