Paul King

Paul King, 95, husband of Anna Lewis King for almost 75 years, passed away April 2, 2024, at his home in Paris, Kentucky surrounded by his family.

He was born in North Middletown, Kentucky on February 10, 1929 to the late Roy and Nellie King.

Paul was a 1948 graduate of North Middletown High School and was a member of Penn Avenue Baptist Church in Georgetown, Kentucky. He also attended the Calvary Christian Church in Paris.

In Paul’s early life he was a tobacco farmer. Later in life he worked for several beer distributors and was known by many in Paris for driving the Falls City and Stroh’s beer truck. He also worked at Kentucky Liquor, and Sunnyside Farm as a night watchman.
In his spare time Paul enjoyed fishing, hunting, and training beagle hounds for rabbit hunting. He loved the outdoors and had a passion for gardening. He had a reputation as being known for raising some of the biggest and best tomatoes in Bourbon County. He loved sports, especially U.K. Basketball. He spent many years following his grandsons’ sports teams (baseball, basketball, and football).

Along with his wife Anna, he is survived by two children, Monte (Cissy) King and Paula (Kevin) Cox; four grandsons, Casey King, Cary (Brooke) King, Hayden (Courtney) Cox, Houston Cox; and a great granddaughter, Amelia King and several nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Edith Hedges, Caywood King, Lucille Walton, and Pauline Riddle.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home, 526 Pleasant Street, Paris, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will immediately follow the service in the Paris Cemetery.
