Frank Clay “Junebug” Happy, Jr.

Frank Clay “Junebug” Happy, Jr., a beacon of joy and laughter, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2024, in Lexington, KY, at the age of 58. Born on November 5, 1965, to the late Frank Clay Happy, Sr. and Dolores Nichols Happy, Frank Jr. inherited a spirit of generosity and a sense of humor that would define his life and touch all who knew him.
A proud 1984 graduate of Bourbon County High School, Frank Jr. showcased his musical talents by playing cymbals and clarinet in the school band. His love for music was only matched by his dedication to service, as he went on to honorably serve his country in the United States Navy. Following his military career, he returned to his roots in Paris, where he became a familiar and friendly face behind the deli counter at Wal-Mart, a position he held for several years.
Frank Jr. was an active member of Veaches Chapel CME, where he found a second family among the congregation. His faith and community were cornerstones of his life, providing him with strength and companionship.
He was a man who cherished every moment with his family, especially his beloved sister, Clara Michelle “Missy” (Nakia Singleton) Happy. His role as a doting uncle to his nieces and nephews, Kani (Kevin) McGee, Joseph Happy, Marquita Hampton, and Elias Webb, as well as his great-nieces, Kyleigh Hampton and Kieralani McGee, was one he embraced with love and pride. Frank Jr. also leaves behind his uncles, James and Kenneth Happy, and his aunts, Sarah Happy, Viola Nichols, Margaret Nichols, and Jackie Nichols, who will miss his warm presence.
Predeceased by his parents and his brother, Joseph “Joey” Happy, Frank Jr.’s legacy of love, generosity, and humor will live on in the hearts of those he left behind. He was a man who could light up a room with his laughter and who gave selflessly, embodying the true essence of a life well-lived. Frank Clay “Junebug” Happy, Jr. will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to inspire joy in all who were fortunate enough to know him.
