Patricia (Adams) Freeny

Patricia (Adams) Freeny, beloved wife, mother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home in Paris, KY, on October 25, 2024, at the age of 78. Born on October 14, 1946, in Poteau, OK, to Robert and Maxine Adams, Pat later moved with her parents to Bakersfield, CA, where she grew up and had a family of her own.
Pat attended East Bakersfield High where she graduated in 1964. She began her career at Sandstone Brick as the region’s first female locksmith and quickly expanded her skills to become a construction estimator. Later, she joined her friend Tom Heisey in co-founding Champion Hardware, where she continued to make an impact.
In 2006, after a successful career, Pat and husband, Mike, retired to Paris, KY, fulfilling a dream by purchasing a 100-acre farm to breed and race thoroughbred horses. In her new community, Pat became involved with the First Presbyterian Church and the Morning Circle ladies’ group, where she dedicated herself to charitable work, giving back through donations and volunteerism.
Pat is survived by her husband, Mike Freeny; daughter, Aimee Brummer; and stepchildren, Michael Freeny, Stacee Sanderson, and Tracee Davidson. She will be remembered for her impeccable taste, her generosity, and the love she shared with her family and friends.
A funeral service will be on Saturday, November 2, at 1 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Paris. Pat’s final resting place was at Gethsemane Cemetery in Bryan County, OK. In place of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Buckhorn Children and Family Services at buckhorn.org. Hinton-Turner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. www.hintonturner.com
