Allene Creed Owen Crump life-long resident of Paris, KY departed this life on November 19, 2024 at the age of 93. She was born on October 12, 1931 to the late Curtis Burnham and Iva Jane Dennis Owen in their home on Fords Mill Road. She shared her birthday with a sister (Leona), grandson (Neil) and great granddaughter (Hattie Belle). Allene was proceeded in death by her husband of 57 years, Albert “Abbie” Crump, Jr. who passed in 2008. Allene is a graduate of Paris High School, Class of 1949. She was a long-time employee of the Paris Independent School District as a cafeteria worker at Southside Elementary & Middle School, Paris High School and the Paris Western School, where she served thousands of students their school lunches. She has been a member of Central Baptist Church, Paris, KY since early adulthood and taught the two-year old Sunday School class for more than 40 years. Allene was an avid Paris Greyhound, Cincinnati Reds and UK Wildcats fan. She is best known as a devoted wife, mother, mamaw, sister and aunt. Allene was one of the nicest, kindest women you would ever meet and welcomed all with open, loving arms. She is survived by three daughters, Connie Fischer, Carol (Alvin) Stamper both of Paris; Janet (Gil) Castro of San Diego, CA; two sons, Curtis Crump, Jack (Kim) Crump, both of Paris; 12 grandchildren, Coron (Jade) Tsurara, Keri (Brodie) Fischer-Seehuetter, Kendra Crump, Jason Crump, Ashley Crump, Neil Crump, Crimson (David) Lauria, Nikki (Jason) Techau, Sammy (Alyssa) Crump, Kayla (Ryan) Claypool, Abigail Castro, Alex Castro; 22 great grandchildren, Alexis Fischer, Madison Fischer, Raegan Seehuetter, Michael Curtis (Tori) McCarty, Kaylie Holoch Crump, Larissa Crump, Trinity Crump, Kirsten Witt, Katie Witt, Keagan Johnson, Cassidy Gilvin, Kyra Mefford, Braylon Wagner, Kylie Techau, Bryson Crump, T.J. Crump, Henry Crump, Abigail June Crump, Rhett Claypool, Hattie Belle Claypool, and Pete Claypool; two great, great grandchildren, Colton McCarty and Evelyn Tubbs; two brothers, Henry Clay (Betty) Owen & Doug (Wanda) Owen and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was proceeded in death by an infant daughter, Deborah Jean Crump, an infant great grandson Phoenix Edward Jaxon Crump, two sisters Bettye Jean Owen Kookendoffer and Stella Leona “Loney” Owen Kookendoffer and an infant brother Curtis Burnham Owen, Jr. The family wishes to acknowledge the many caregivers who assisted Allene over the past two years, especially her niece Kathy Kookendoffer and friend Brooklyn Wood.
Funeral services were 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 30, at the Central Baptist Church by Rev. Dan Russell with interment in the Paris Cemetery. Casket bearers were Neil Crump, Sammy Crump, Jason Crump, Michael Curtis McCarty, Coron Tsurara and Ryan Claypool. Honorary bearers were Henry Clay Owen, Doug Owen and her grandchildren.
