Barbara Jean Havens

Barbara Jean Havens, a cherished wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2025, in Lexington, KY, at the age of 58. Born on March 9, 1967, in Bourbon County, Barbara’s life was a testament to the joy and love she brought to all who knew her.
Barbara was the beloved daughter of the late Ana Lean Hawkins Farrow and Walter Henry Farrow. She grew up surrounded by her siblings, the late Judy Blades, Kathy Sexton, Johnny Farrow, Nancy Farrow, and Douglas Wayne Farrow. Her life was enriched by the love and companionship of her devoted husband, Craig Havens, and daughter, Katherine Farrow (Christopher Highley). Barbara’s memory will be cherished by her sisters, Minnie Thomas and Dinah Farrow, and her brothers, Tracy (Susan) Farrow and Oliver (Vickie) Farrow. Her legacy continues through the lives of her numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and her special dog, Chloe, who brought her immeasurable comfort and joy.
A graduate of Nicholas County High School, Barbara dedicated her life to creating a warm and loving home as a homemaker. Her gentle spirit and kind heart made her home a welcoming place for all who entered.
Barbara’s interests were as vibrant and varied as her personality. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as listening to music, swimming, and drawing. Her love for shopping was matched only by her love for riding backroads, where she found peace in the beauty of the countryside. Vacationing with her family was a source of great happiness, with trips to Kings Island and Dollywood being among her favorite destinations. Barbara also found amusement in trying to sing karaoke, filling rooms with laughter and song.
Her life was a beautiful melody of love, laughter, and cherished moments. Barbara’s presence was a light in the lives of those she touched, and her memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of her family and friends. As we bid farewell to Barbara Jean Havens, we celebrate the enduring impact she made on our lives and the love she so freely gave. Her spirit will forever be a guiding force, reminding us to embrace the joys of life with open arms and a song in our hearts.
