David Lee Lykins
David Lee Lykins, February 26, 1952 – July 7, 2025.
David Lee Lykins, 73, of Lexington, Kentucky, formerly of Paris, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and man of deep Christian faith, David lived a life grounded in kindness, humility, love, and laughter. He had a gift for making others smile and could brighten any room with his humor and warmth.
David spent his career as a dedicated salesman, known for his strong work ethic, easy conversation, and ability to connect with everyone he met. Outside of work, he found great joy in playing golf, cheering on University of Kentucky athletics, and spending time with his family—especially his grandchildren, who were the light of his life.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Dayna Kayleen Lykins; his daughters, Lissa Daniels (Jake) and Meghan Southworth (Mark); and his cherished grandchildren, Oscar, Leo, and August Daniels, and Lincoln and Charlee Southworth, who brought him immense joy and pride.
David is also survived by his brother, Maurice Lykins (Bonnie), and many extended family members and friends who will remember his warmth, humor, and enduring spirit.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Jane Lykins.
David’s life was a testament to his faith, his love for his family, and his strength through life’s challenges. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the gift of knowing him.
A celebration of life will be held on July 31st from 5–8 PM at The Barr House, 1200 Cypress St., Paris, KY 40361.
