Rex Dean Rawlings
Rex Dean Rawlings, age 86, husband of Rosalie Rowe Rawlings, departed this life on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at his home in Georgetown, Kentucky. Rex was born on December 17, 1938, in Bath County, Kentucky the son of the late Willie Ray and Della Ray May Rawlings, a graduate of Sharpsburg High School, a veteran of the United States Army, and a long-time member of Little Rock Christian Church. He had attended Southland Christian Church the last few years since moving to Georgetown. While serving his country in the Army, he was taught surveying which he continued after returning home and later attended barber school, serving many in the community as their barber, while also farming. He enjoyed his motorcycle, fishing, helping others, reading, country music, and had the ability to fix anything. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Sutton, and a son-in-law, Paul Simpson.
Along with his wife, Rosalie, he is survived by two daughters, Rachel Simpson, Rebecca (James) Maupin; five grandchildren, Emily (Ryan) Kingsmore, Mason Simpson, Jonas Maupin, Seth Maupin, Daniel Maupin; one great grandchild, Jackson Kingsmore; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Rex Dean Rawlings was at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 26, 2025, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home with Rev. Rex Graham officiating. Interment followed in Crown Hill cemetery with casket bearers being Ryan Kingsmore, Mason Simpson, James Maupin, Jonas Maupin, Seth Maupin, Daniel Maupin, and R.T. Sutton.
