Robert Wayne Cameron

Robert Wayne Cameron, known affectionately as Wayne by his friends and loved ones, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2025, in Cynthiana, KY, at the age of 80. Born in Paris, KY, on April 7, 1945, to the late Robert Anderson Cameron and Eloise Mae Fuller Cameron Collins, Wayne was a beacon of light and laughter in the lives of all who knew him.
Wayne graduated from Bourbon County High School in 1963 before proudly serving his country in the United States Army. After his military service, he built a fulfilling career at IBM/LexMark, from which he later retired.
Beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Wayne is survived by his two children, Jennifer (Robert) Houston and Tracy (Kristal) Cameron. His legacy of love and laughter continues through his three cherished grandchildren, Taylor Houston, Amanda (Kyle) Sweet, and Trina Cameron, as well as his adored five great-grandchildren. He leaves behind a caring brother, Gary Cameron, and two devoted sisters, Janice (Carl Wayne) Hafley and Sharon (Danny) Purvis. His memory will be held dear by his many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Wayne was preceded in death by his treasured wife, Linda Sue Bennett Cameron, three brothers, Jimmy, Billy, and Ronnie Cameron, and one sister, Linda Caudill.
Wayne was a man of many interests. An avid fisherman and golfer, he enjoyed spending his days outdoors, basking in the simple pleasures of life. He earned the fond title of “piddler” from those who were always amazed at his ability to fix just about anything. His handy nature and generous spirit often led him to lend a helping hand to those around him.
As we say farewell to Robert Wayne Cameron, we celebrate the remarkable man he was and the countless ways he enriched our lives. His laughter, tenacity, and joy for life will echo in the hearts of those who loved him for generations to come. Wayne’s story is not one of goodbye but one of gratitude for the time we were granted with such an extraordinary man.
