Glenda Lee Smith, 69, of Lexington, KY, brought joy and love to all who knew her, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2026, in Winchester, KY. Born on November 3, 1956, Glenda was a beacon of warmth and a pillar of strength in her community and family.
Glenda was the cherished daughter of the late James and Rachael Cynthia Teater. Her enduring spirit and compassionate heart left unforgettable impressions on everyone she met. Although preceded in death by her beloved son, Chad Teater Lawson, her daughter, Heather Smith, and her adored grandchildren, Dylan Sizemore and Sebastian “C-bo” Smith, late brother, Oscar Smith and sister-in-law Nancy Simmons. Glenda’s legacy of love and resilience continues through her family.
Her loving husband of many years, Paul Smith, remains a testament to their unfaltering partnership and shared life. The couple’s bonds of affection and mutual respect were evident to all and served as a beautiful example of enduring love. Glenda is also survived by her devoted daughter, Farrah Hammonds, and her son, Paul Edward, who both reflect her kind nature and strength of character.
The family circle extends to Glenda’s dear grandchildren—Vanessa Smith, Kelly King, Skye Hammonds, Star Hammonds, and Heaven Hammonds. Each grandchild was a bright light in Glenda’s life, receiving from her a treasure trove of wisdom, laughter, and cherished memories that will forever shape their futures.
Her memory will be upheld by her siblings, Joan Morris, Barry and Lois Teater, Sharon and Jimmy Ford, Pam Noel, Teddy and Rhonda Teater, Linda Fitch, and Estill Smith. Together, the family shared bonds of kinship and love, celebrating every occasion with joy and unity.
Glenda’s exuberance and sense of adventure were demonstrated through her proud membership in the SAG motorcycle club. Her enthusiasm for life was infectious, and she reveled in the freedom of the open road, surrounded by friends who shared her passion. Glenda’s presence would light up any gathering, and her laughter was a melody that will resonate within the hearts of those who loved her.
A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Glenda Lee Smith will be profoundly missed and eternally treasured. Her kindness, courage, and the pure joy she brought to life will remain an inspiration to all. As Glenda embarks on her final journey, her loved ones take solace in knowing that her spirit lives on through the many lives she touched.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday, January 10, 2026, at the Lusk McFarland Funeral Home Chapel, 1120 Main Street Paris, KY 40361.
Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the hour of service on Saturday January 10th, 2026, at Lusk McFarland Funeral Home.
