Archie Ray Smith

Archie Ray Smith, 59, passed away February 14th, 2026, after a short battle with cancer, at UK hospital, surrounded by his family. He was born in Nicholas County to the late Silas Runyon Smith and Vonda Phyllis Brown Smith.
Archie had a lifelong love of music. He would often listen to music and sing a long whether he knew the words or not.
He spent many hours fishing with family and friends. He told many fish stories, many of them were true, some, not so much.
Archie also loved watching Kentucky Wildcat Basketball. He rarely missed a game. He was truly one of their biggest fans.
Archie loved spending time and playing with his one and only grandson Grayson. He bragged about him all the time. He was a very proud Papaw.
Archie was preceded in death by his parents, Silas Runyon Smith and Vonda Phyllis Brown Smith, a brother, Kirk Lee Smith, and two sisters, Mary Lou Smith Ethington and Karen Elizabeth Smith Earlywine. Also preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Ronnie Jones and Shirley Pergram.
Archie is survived by his wife of thirty plus years, Lisa Jones Smith, his son, Joshua Ray Smith, two brothers, Keith (Tammy) Smith of Carlisle KY, Kirby Jo Smith of Paris KY, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins, and a very special grandson Grayson Smith of Berry KY.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date pending cremation. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the funeral home. Carlisle-Clark Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
