Wilburn Clay McCarty

Wilburn Clay McCarty, widower of Linda Sue Woodward McCarty, departed this life on Tuesday, March 24, 2025, at his home, surrounded by those that loved him dearly. Wilburn was 85 years of age, having been born in Bath County, KY on March 07, 1941, the son of the late Luther and Anna Dora Pettit McCarty. He was a graduate of Paris High School, was retired from IBM having worked as a purchasing agent for many years, and was a member of Southland Christian Church. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, John McCarty; his siblings, Charles McCarty, Kenneth McCarty, Jim McCarty, Nancy Boaz, and Ruby Boyd.
Surviving is a daughter, Karen (Dan) Donovan; granddaughters, Danielle (Michael) Watts, Karley (Brandon) Boggs, Katelyn (Noah) Jordan; great grandchildren, Reese Watts, Beau Watts, Colton Boggs, and Baylee Boggs. Also surviving are his brothers, Bobby McCarty, Donnie (Pam) McCarty; as well as several nieces and nephews.
The visitation for Wilburn Clay McCarty began at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home with funeral following at 1:00 p.m., Pastor Bryan Watts, Jr. officiating. Interment followed in Paris cemetery with casket bearers being Robbie McCarty, Kenny McCarty, Michael Watts, Brandon Boggs, Noah Jordan, and Bill Nichols.
