Todd Edward Merringer
Todd Edward Merringer, 62, of Paris KY, passed away peacefully, March 25, 2026, after giving cancer one heck of a fight. Todd was born on February 3rd, 1964, in Paris KY to the late John Edward Merringer and Carol Sumpter Merringer. He was a 1982 graduate of Paris High School where he played football and was a proud member of the 1981 undefeated state championship team. Todd attended Kentucky Technical Institute, where he pursued a career in welding. Welding became more than a career for Todd, it was his passion, something he truly loved and took great pride in.
Todd was a True Blue Kentucky Wildcats fan and rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on the team. He loved music and treasured time spent with family, especially vacations to the beach, a place that had many special memories for him and his family. Todd had a contagious smile and will always be remembered for his easygoing nature.
He is survived by his brother, Bryan Merringer (Daniel Cline) and his sister Christie Thornton (Kevin). He is also survived by his niece, Kendall McDonald and nephew, Blake McDonald, who lovingly gave their uncle the name “Toddsickle”
Though he left us to soon, Todd’s spirit and strength will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. The family is deeply grateful to Bluegrass Care Navigators Hospice for their dedicated care. Memorial donations may be made in their honor.
A private service will be held at a later date.
