Betty Jean Sipe
Betty Jean Sipe, age 89, widow of Marshall Glen Sipe, departed this life into the arms of our Lord on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at Saint Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. Betty was born in Peoria, Illinois on July 28, 1936, the daughter of the late Robert Golden and Geneva Rayburn Witt. She graduated from Bourbon County High School and attended (briefly) Airline school in California until her high school sweetheart convinced her to come home and marry him. Betty was retired from Brevard County Sherriff’s Department in Titusville Florida. After her husband, Marshall passed, Betty made the decision to return to the family farm where she grew up. She was a member of Old Union Christian Church, active in the C.W.F., enjoyed the home she built on the family farm, and was passionate about her gardening, canning, and being outdoors. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Beverly Michelle, brothers; Danny Gayle Witt and Lloyd Witt, as well as a grandson, Marshall Brandon Sipe.
Surviving is her daughter, Donna (Perry) Jordan; son, Marshall (Sherry) Sipe; three grandchildren, Ian (Shari) VanLeer, Michelle (Shane) Jeffers, Cody Sipe (Christina White); great grandchildren, Marley VanLeer, Dallas VanLeer, Myles Jeffers, Huxton Sipe, and Laiken Sipe. Also surviving are two brothers, Luther “Ricky” Witt, Malcomb (Sherry) Witt; and sister, Yvonne Martin, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Betty Jean will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 14, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home until time for the service, which will begin at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Scott Winkler officiating. Interment will follow at a later date at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, Titusville, Florida.
