Cathy Elaine Blevins Phipps, 74, of Paris, Kentucky, passed away on June 6, 2026. She was born on September 20, 1951, in West Liberty, Kentucky, and lived a life marked by love, kindness, and devotion to her family. Cathy was a woman whose warm smile and gentle spirit touched everyone who knew her, and she will be remembered with deep affection by all who were blessed to share in her life.
Cathy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. She is survived by her husband, Van Phipps; her daughter, Van Malaya Harries and her partner Tammy Clark; her grandson, Austin Harries and his wife Courtney; her great-grandsons, Fowyer Harries and Locklan Harries; and her daughter, Erin Drury and her husband Andrew; her granddaughter Leighton Drury. Her step-mother Mamaw Florence, she is also survived by her brother, Walter Blevins Jr. and his wife Cheryl; her nieces, Leah, Lacy and Kristen her sister, Janie Jenkins; nieces, Dorothy and Sarai; her brothers, Timmy Blevins and his partner Denzil Keeton, Dewey Blevins and his wife Kim; nieces Ashley Roseberry, Josh Blevins and John Blevins as well as step siblings, Mike Rose and Cheryl Lykins. She also leaves behind a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins who will cherish her memory. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Blevins and Dorothy Beckelhimer Blevins.
Cathy worked as a licensed insurance agent and carried herself with professionalism, integrity, and care. She was known for her steady presence and her ability to make others feel comfortable and valued. In both her work and her personal life, she showed a sincere concern for people and a genuine desire to help wherever she could.
Above all else, Cathy loved her family. Her children and grandchildren were the center of her world, and she found her greatest joy in being surrounded by those she loved. She was a big family person who treasured time spent together and made lasting memories through her kindness and her constant encouragement. She was always smiling and always seemed to know the right thing to say, offering comfort, wisdom, and love in equal measure.
Cathy also loved to cook for her family, and her fried chicken and butterscotch pie made from scratch were favorites that will be remembered for years to come. Her kitchen was a place of warmth and welcome, where love was often expressed through the meals she prepared and the care she put into every detail. Those who gathered around her table knew they were not only being fed, but also being loved.
Her life was a beautiful reflection of devotion, strength, and grace. Cathy Elaine Blevins Phipps will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched, the lessons she shared, and the love she gave so freely throughout her life.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday June 13, 2026 by Brother John Smith and Brother Mike Lyndon at the Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home Chapel, 1120 Main St., Paris, KY. Burial to follow on their farm at 302 Indicott Ln, Paris, KY.
Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the time of the service on Saturday June 13, 2026 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be John Blevins, Josh Blevins, Edgar Romero, Jacob Thornton, Andrew Drury and Blaze Wilson.
