Peggy Shirlene Holder
Peggy Shirlene Holder, age 77, of Paris, Kentucky, passed away on June 11, 2026, in Paris, Kentucky. She was born on May 1, 1949, in Paris, Kentucky, and lived a life marked by devotion to her family, a strong work ethic, and a quiet but steady presence that will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Peggy received her GED and later attended college, reflecting her determination to continue learning and better herself throughout her life. She carried that same determination into her work, where she spent 20 years working part time at Speedway in Paris until her recent retirement. Her years there were a testament to her reliability, her commitment, and the pride she took in doing her job well (and making sure you used your Speedy Rewards card).
Those who knew Peggy will remember that she was an early riser who was up before the sun at 4:30 a.m. and never liked to leave any task unfinished. She believed in getting things done and doing them right, and that dependable spirit was one of the many qualities that defined her. When she was not working, she was happiest at home, where she enjoyed a peaceful routine and the comfort of familiar surroundings. She especially loved watching her favorite television shows, CSI and Grey’s Anatomy, and she found joy in the simple moments spent with the people she loved most.
Family was at the center of Peggy’s life. She is survived by her son, Danny Puckett Jr.; her sisters, Margaret Kissick and her twin, Patsy Earlene Magwood; her grandchildren, Chase Puckett, Markel Moberly, and Katherine Garrison; and her great-grandchild, Taylor Puckett. She also leaves behind many cherished memories that will remain in the hearts of those who loved her.
Peggy was preceded in death by her daughter, Ashley Len Garrison; her parents, Earl H. and Katherine Purcell Bartlett; her brother, Charles E. Bartlett, and his wife, Ruth Bartlett; her sister, Janet R. Scott, and her husband, Samuel Scott; her sister, Marilyn Sue Davis; her brothers-in-law, Bill Kissick and Pete Magwood; and a special friend, Kelly Brown. Their memories were a meaningful part of her life, and she carried those bonds with her always.
Peggy Shirlene Holder will be remembered for her steadfast nature, her love of family, and the quiet strength she brought to everyday life. Her presence was a comfort to those around her, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of her loved ones.
