Dolly Ritchie Cracraft Jones

Dolly Ritchie Cracraft Jones, age 100, of Georgetown, KY, formerly of North Middletown, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Windsor Gardens in Georgetown. She was born February 28, 1926, in Covington, KY, to the late Carlos Buel and Bessie Jones Ritchie. Dolly lived a long, blessed life. She was married for 54 years to Frank Cracraft of North Middletown, with whom she had two wonderful sons, until his passing. She later found love again and remained married to William Jones, gaining a stepdaughter, until his passing.
Dolly attended Kentucky Christian College before beginning her work career. She served as a church secretary for many years and then began work as secretary to the Civilian Personnel Officer at an army base (Avon). Later, she was selected to become part of Hdqts. Dept. of Army and served as secretary to a Colonel who was later promoted to Brigadier General.
She was a faithful member of the North Middletown Christian Church for many years, then a member of the Capital City Christian Church in her later years. The family will be eternally grateful to the Windsor Gardens staff, along with personal care servants Pauline Carroll and Teresa Brock for their loving care of Dolly.
Dolly is survived by her two sons: Carlos Cracraft (Joni) of Midway and Sam Cracraft (Karen) of Georgetown; her stepdaughter, Barbara Jones Mook of Lexington; four grandchildren: Bo Cracraft (Tara), Matt Cracraft, Heather Young (Travis), and Lynley Hamilton (Kyle), along with nine great grandchildren.
Dolly was also preceded in death by her sister Alice Ritcie Wheeler.

A graveside service was at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 11th at Machpelah Cemetery, 600 E. Locust Street, Mt. Sterling. Officiating was Dr. Rev. John Opsata.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. July 17, 2026, at the Grace Christian Church, 1648 Lexington Road, Georgetown, KY. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until time of service. Officiating will be Dr. Rev. John Opsata.
