Ruby Jean Mattox Gilkerson

Ruby Jean Mattox Gilkerson, 82, widow of Raymond Douglas Gilkerson, passed away Monday, July 13, 2026. Born in Mason County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Everett Stanley and Ruby Elizabeth Bradford Mattox.
A former receiving clerk with RexRoth and retired realtor Ruby enjoyed attending auctions and collecting antiques. A true people person, she was active in supporting her grandchildren with their activities and cherished her time with family, especially during the holidays.
She is survived by her children, Ricky (Teresa) Florence and Melissa Florence; stepdaughter, Janet (Dennis) Chaney; grandchildren, Lane and Jessica Florence; and niece, Donna (Ron) Lay. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Donald, Stephen and Jerry Mattox.
Funeral services will be 2 PM Saturday, July 18th at Johnson’s Funeral Home, conducted by Pastor Carl Kelleher. Visitation will be 12 PM till service time. www.johnsonsfuneralhome.com
