Sandra Jean Fryman Hopkins

Sandra Jean Fryman Hopkins, wife of the late Robert J. “Buddy” Hopkins, passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at her home in Nicholas County.
Born July 14, 1961 in Fleming County to the late James Madison and Betty Jean Glass Fryman, she was a formerly employee of International Spike in Lexington. Sandra greatly enjoyed going to flea markets and was an avid collector of glass chickens. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving are six sons: Shawn (Tammy) Fryman, Marcus (Ashley) Hopkins, Jackie (Heather) Hopkins, Lee (Patricia) Hopkins, Robert (Charlotte) Hopkins and Donald McCullough “Hopkins”; four brothers: Terry Wayne (late-Diana) Fryman, Woody (Penny) Fryman, Steve Fryman (Lori Peterman) and Mike Fryman (Cindy Feeback); two sisters, Lola (Marion “Tarzan”) Hopkins and Elaine Fryman; 13 grandchildren: Becca (Johnny) Franklin, Wesley and Kenzie Hopkins, Cristi (Nick) Dotson, Thatcher and Daxton Hopkins, Reagan and Landon Hopkins, Caroline, Allyson and James Michael, Kyra (Jonathan) Perkins and Taylor (Justin) Ritchie; 11 great-grandchildren: James Wesley Franklin, Sophia Hopkins, Nathan and Miranda Brady, Colt Dotson, Theodore, Wyatt, Lyla and Sutton Perkins, Leighton Ritchie and Bo Watkins; and a great-great grandson, Daniel Brady.
Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Davie and Ricky Fryman; four sisters: Peggy Phillips, Kathy McGlothin, Valerie Jolly and Rosemary Fryman; and a grandson, Luke Hopkins.
Services were 1:00 P.M. Monday, July 20 at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home by Bro. Johnathan Allison with burial to follow in Carlisle Cemetery.
Visitation was from 11:00 A.M. Monday until the time of service.
