Mark Hays Cubine

Mark Hays Cubine, 68, of Vincent, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2026. A celebration of life will be held in his honor at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26 at the Whosoever Will Men’s Bible Class, 308 North Street E., Talladega, AL 35160, with Robert Klotz and Adam Armstrong officiating.
His family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
Mark was born in Louisville and grew up in Paris. He attended Paris High School where he graduated with honors and lettered on the 1973 state championship football team.
Mr. Cubine was also the 1976 senior class president and student council president.
He trained and was certified as an emergency medical technician during his senior year of high school and later worked for Lusk Ambulance Service in Paris, then Angel of Mercy Ambulance Service in Paducah.
He attended Vanderbilt University where he graduated with degrees in biomedical engineering and electrical engineering. During his studies at Vanderbilt, he worked for the university as a dormitory resident advisor and head resident. Mark was also a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity.
After graduation, Mr. Cubine began a career that spanned for more than 43 years. He worked for Honeywell, Hewlett-Packard and Raytheon in various roles before co-founding EnteGreat—a Birmingham, Alabama-based consulting and systems integration firm in 2000.
Mark finished his career with a 14-year stint at McLeod Software where he was vice president of marketing and lead the Enterprise Systems sales team.
He took over teaching duties for the Whosoever Will Men’s Bible Class in 2012 after the passing of its founder, Bryan Townsend, and he considered that to be the most important job that he ever had.
He is preceded in death by his father, William Patrick Cubine.
Mr. Cubine is survived by his wife of 35 years, retired Lt. Col. Susan M. Cheatwood; mother, Mary McMakin Cubine; sister Susan Cubine Snyder (Chip); niece Kaylin Wolfe; and nephew Henry Snyder.
In lieu of flowers, Mark’s family asks that donations be made in his memory to Whosoever Will Men’s Bible Foundation, P.O. Box 299, Talladega, AL 35161.
