Jennie Cooper

Jennie Cooper, of Paris, departed this life on Thursday, August 29, 2019, at Johnson Mather’s Nursing Facility in Carlisle, Kentucky, having attained the age of 85 years.    She was born on January 7, 1934, in Belfry, Kentucky, the daughter of late Willie and Nola Ann Centers Yates.    She graduated from Belfry High School in 1954, was a retired seamstress from Hansley Mill, a member of the Democratic Party, having been active in several local campaigns, and a member of First Baptist Church.   She was preceded in death by her husbands, Beacher Blackburn and Eugene Cooper.
Surviving is a son, Greg Blackburn and his wife Robyn; a granddaughter, Sarah Leeann Blackburn; and a great grand-daughter, Kennedy Hill.   Also surviving is a sister, Betty Sue Bougher and three brothers, Frank Yates, Joe Yates and Carl Yates, as well as several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Jennie Cooper was held on Saturday, August 31, 2019, at 3:00 p.m. at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home with Rev. Don Reed officiating. Interment followed in Paris Cemetery.  Casket bearers were Buster Tipton, Phil Hurst, Wayne Turner, Rob Massie, Charles Pope, and Clay Sturgeon.
