Margaret Singer Kerr

Margaret Singer Kerr, age 98, of Lexington and former longtime resident of Paris, went to Heaven on May 7, 2020, at her home in Lexington, due to natural causes.   She was born on March 24, 1922, in Scott County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Thomas and Eugenia Stone Singer and was a graduate of Kentucky Wesleyan College in Winchester.   After college, she became a hostess for the Southern Railway Streamline; was a retired business woman as co-owner of Kerr’s Service Center; a member of Central Baptist Church, having been a charter member and served on various committees over the years; former Bourbon County School Board member; Bourbon County Hospital Board member; and was named Business Woman of the Year in Bourbon County.
She is survived by her daughter, P.J. Kerr of Lexington; a sister, Jean Derickson of Powell County; and three nieces, Virginia Todd and husband Phillip, Carol Overbee and husband Roger and Jennifer Derickson, all of Powell County.

 
There will be a memorial service for Margaret Singer Kerr at Central Baptist Church that will be announced at a later date.
