Mary Ida Linville, widow of W.H. Linville, departed this life on Wednesday, May 27, 2020, at Bourbon Heights, having attained the age of 104. She was born in Ruddles Mill, KY on January 16, 1916, the daughter of the late Edward and Ida Layton Owsley, attended school in the Ruddles Mill school system, was a member of Rose Rebekah Lodge #7, a homemaker, and a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Marilee Galbraith Wardle, as well as two sons, James Garrett Linville and W.H. Linville, Jr.
Surviving is a son Edward Linville and his wife Jane of Lexington; six grandchildren, W.H. “Trey” Linville, III (Shelley), Gare Galbraith (Alex), Kelly Galbraith Geoghegan (Philip), B.J. Linville Short (Jim), Joseph Linville (Carol), James Linville, Jr. (Jessica); eight great-grandchildren, Hayden Short, Brandon Short, McKenna Geoghegan, Patrick Geoghegan, Matthew Linville, Daniel Linville, Austin Linville, Taylor Linville; and one great great grandchild, Kassi Short.
The funeral service for Mary Ida Linville will be at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2020, with Rev. Jeff Bell officiating. Interment will follow in Paris Cemetery with casket bearers being Patrick Geoghegan, Hayden Short, Joseph Linville, Jim Short, Daniel Linville, and James Linville, Jr. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 12 noon. www.hintonturner.com
