Rose Marie Farah (Hagley)
Rose Marie Farah (Hagley), 87 of Carlisle, KY passed away Tuesday, March 9, surrounded by her family. Rose Marie was born in Belmont, NC, on December 9, 1933, the oldest of three children and 20 grandchildren, and first generation Lebanese American. She was a woman of strong faith, family and a life-long devoted caregiver to so many in her life.
Rose Marie is survived by her four loving children, Licha H. Farah, Jr. (Gretchen), Mary-Alicha Weldon (Brian), Edward Jebron Farah and Rose Ann Knight (Andy). She was blessed with nine grandchildren; Mary Caroline, John and Michael Farah; Farah Kathryn and Luke Weldon; Sadie and Sam Evans and Drew and Frankie Knight. Rose Marie was also survived by her sister, Patricia Bouharoun, Greenville, SC and many cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Mary Hagley, her brother Sam Hagley and joyfully joins her departed husband Licha H. Farah. Rose Marie was an example of unconditional love and faith that she lived out each and every day, witnessed by those around her. She was a constant source of love and devotion to her family and friends and as one cousin put it….. “Rose Marie did not quote scripture but she lived it every day”. Kentucky was home to Rose Marie for the majority of her adult life, but her home state of North Carolina always had her heart.
Visitation will be Friday, March 12, from 4-7 p.m., at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home, Paris, KY, with Rosary beginning at 6:30 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 13, at 10 a.m., at the Catholic Church of the Annunciation in Paris, KY, followed by a burial at the Carlisle Cemetery.
