Katherine Dawn Lyons Rainey

Katherine Dawn Lyons Rainey, 59, of Carlisle, passed away Thursday, March 11, 2021, at her home.
Born October 13, 1961, in Nicholas County to Ewell Roberts “Bud” and Nancye Ellen Reid Lyons, Kathy was a registered nurse, having worked at Nurses Registry, Bourbon Community Hospital, Wedco Home Health and both the Bath and Bourbon County School Systems, and was a member of the Carlisle Presbyterian Church. She loved spending time gardening and at the beach.
In addition to her parents, Kathy is survived by her children, Katie (Owen) Hinton and Nathan Rainey (Sydney Payne) and her nephews, Seth and Ross Haney.
Preceding her in death were her first husband, John Moore, her brother, Ewell Roberts “Robbie” Lyons, and her sister and brother-in-law, Marsha and Mike Haney.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 16, 2021, at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home by Rev. Schuyler Olt. Inurnment will follow in the Carlisle Cemetery at a later time.
