Douglas Hays

Douglas Hays, 63, of Paris, KY, passed away April 18, 2021, surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born to parents, Bud and Elouise Hays on January 26, 1958, in Hindman, KY. He married Pam, the love of his life, in 1977, who survives him.
Doug is also survived by his sons; Ryan (Celeste) Hays, and Terry (Rachel) Hays, as well as his grandchildren; Micah, Abby, Brody, and J.P., his sisters; Kathy (Randall) Ritchie, Linda Hays, and Marlene (David) Gregory along with many nieces and nephews.
Doug was known for his love of bluegrass music, baseball, and fishing, and was a coach to many youth in Paris. He enjoyed being with his family and friends and you could always find him at a ballgame where his grandchildren were playing. His love for music stemmed from his mountain roots and his love for the Lord.
A graveside service will be held May 1, 2021, at 2:00 p.m., at the Gayheart Cemetery in Owens Branch, Hindman, KY.
The family requests that people make donations in support of New Life Ministries Church, 340 N. Middletown Rd., Paris, KY, in lieu of sending flowers.

    Doug was so special, its hard to put in words. He encouraged me to stay strong and not to hold a grudge, he told me to stay strong in the lord.He was always a wonderful cousin ,someone to look up to.i love him soo much. It’s really hard to think of a Earth with out him. I know he’s with uncle Bud & Aunt Eloise., Daddy and momma, uncle Ernie ,Aunt Janette, Aunt Lettie. And all the rest of our clan waiting on us I will see u again….luv u Dougie

    Doug was a special man. And he truly loved the Lord and his family. Sending prayers of comfort for Pam, his children, grandchildren, and all his family and friends.
