Mildred Franklin

Mildred Franklin, 94, died Sunday, May 9, 2021, at the Bourbon Heights Nursing Home, Paris, KY.
A native of Lexington, KY, she was the daughter of the late Charles David and Willie Mae Eason Franklin. She was employed in Paris, KY, as a legal/executive secretary for Dura Corporation, Detroit Harvester Company, Hinkle Contracting Company and Stone Farm. She also worked in Lexington, KY, as a legal/executive secretary for Jerrico Inc., Strother, Oliver, and Strother Attorneys, Cowden Manufacturing, and the Phi Gamma Delta National Headquarters. She was a 1945 graduate of Centerhill High School and a 1949 graduate of Eastern Kentucky University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree. She loved animals, especially horses and attended several meets at Keeneland.
She is survived by one brother, Eugene “Skeets” (Sandra) Franklin, Sr.; a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins including Judy (Terry) Tucker, David (Brenda) Craig, Debbie (Tommy) Butler, Pam Franklin and Eugene (Kay) Franklin, Jr.; a number of great nieces and great nephews and a special friend, Gayle Gates.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Charles David Franklin, Jr. and two sisters, Josephine Reffert and Theessa Franklin Ritchie.
Services are private with burial in the Paris Cemetery.
