Roderic Clark “Rod” Montgomery, Jr.
Roderic Clark “Rod” Montgomery, Jr., 74, husband of the late Beverly Sue Jolly Montgomery, passed away Sunday, June 6, 2021 at his home.
Born March 11, 1947 in Winchester, he was a retired employee of both I.B.M. and Toyota Motor Manufacturing, an avid U.K. fan and member of Silas Baptist Church.
Surviving are four daughters: Robin (Johnny) Shofner, of Magnolia, Renee Gress, of Knoxville, and Tina (Stephen) Royse and Tracy Cooper, both of Paris; a brother, Hargis Montgomery, of Lexington; a sister, Priscilla Baxter, of Lexington; nine grandchildren: Megan Kiser, Ashley Shofner, Madison Montgomery, Wesley Royse (Jo Culbertson), Matthew (Brittanie) Royse, Mason Cooper (Katie Nelson), Clayton (Courtney) Cooper, Cory Cordray and Ethan Cordray; and seven great-grandchildren: Tyler and Boone Royse, Lyndsie Barker, Alexia, Kinsley and Kennedy Cooper and Braylyn Cordray, along with a host of nieces and nephews.
Also preceding him in death were his parents, Roderick C. and Pauline Montgomery and Grace Hundley Montgomery; two sons, Ricky Montgomery and Jamie Cooper; a brother-in-law, Ron Baxter; and a sister-in-law, Donna Montgomery.
Services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, June 10th at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home by Bro. Curtis Coots with burial to follow in Carlisle Cemetery.
His grandsons will serve as casketbearers.
Visitation will be after 5:00 P.M. Wednesday.
