Mary Elizabeth ”Maggie” Myers Garrard

Mary Elizabeth ”Maggie” Myers Garrard, 91, widow of the late George Garrard, died Friday, July 9, 2021, at the Richmond Place, Lexington, KY.
She was born in Paris, KY, to the late Henry and Annie Warren Myers. Mary was a homemaker, longtime member of Saint Paul United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School and served as an usher. She had a favorite statement that she lived her life by: “If I can help somebody along the way, my living will not be in vain.”
She is survived by three sons, Clifton Garrard, Phillip (Venita) Garrard, Sr. and Maurice (Janet) Garrard, Sr.; one sister, Geraldine Ransom; brother-in-law, Clarence (Billie) Ayers; nine grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends. The family would also like to recognize, Gary Trumbo, a special young man that provided services around the home for mom.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 14, 2021, at the Saint Paul United Methodist Church, 1117 High St., Paris, KY, by Rev. William Garr and Rev. Chysanthia Carr-Seals. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 14, 2021, at the church until the hour of service.
Pallbearers will be Chez Marks, Phillip Garrard, Jr., Maurice Garrard, Jr., Adrian Garrard, Jerrell Williams and Billy Reed.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Trumbo, Jermaine Garrard, Maurice Marks, Taeshawn Garrard, Mike Garrard and the Methodist Men.
The funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home, 1120 Main St., Paris, KY.
