Buckner Lee Henderson

Mr. Buckner Lee Henderson transitioned to his heavenly home on Sunday, August 1, 2021, at Alamance Regional Medical Center in Burlington, NC. He was born June 11, 1950 in Paris, KY, to the late Lee and Johnetta Buckner Henderson.
As the son of an Air Force Airman, Buck attended schools in Paris, KY, and Wichita Falls, TX, before graduating in 1968, from Klamath Union High School in Klamath Falls, OR. He honorably served his country in the United States Air Force from 1968-1972.
He received undergraduate and graduate degrees from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University and was an elementary school teacher prior to becoming a principal. After retiring, he devoted much of his time to writing and singing Christian music. He was a faithful member of the Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Cassandra Wright Henderson; three sons, Buckner Henderson II (Sharon), Sebastian Henderson (Danielle), and Ryan Henderson; one sister, Vicki Henderson Moore (Dwight); one foster brother, Milton C. Pittman (Drucilla); four grandchildren; two aunts, Ms. Tessie Gaines of Paris, KY and Mrs. Daisy B. Gaines of Tampa, FL; eight nieces and four nephews, and a host of cousins, relatives, and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded by two of his aunts, Mrs. Lorine Bishop and Mrs. Mary Frances Bitting, and two uncles, Mr. George E. Gaines and Dr. Joseph B. Bethea.
Funeral was conducted at Sharpe Road Church of Christ, Greensboro, NC. Interment followed in Lakeview Memorial Park.
