Bobby L. Thompson, age 91, husband of Edna Link Thompson, passed away on Wednesday, September 8, 2021. He was born on July 2, 1930 in Nicholasville, Kentucky. His parents were Rev. Rhodes Thompson Sr. and Frances Congleton Thompson. He retired from Bluegrass Army Depot – Avon after 35 years. Bobby was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Paris, Kentucky where he served as an Elder. He served on the Cane Ridge Preservation Project Board, Paris City School Board, Christian Church Homes Board, and belonged to the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels. Bobby was active in the construction of several Habitat for Humanity homes in Paris and Bourbon County.
In addition to his wife, Edna, Bobby is survived by sons, John (Elaine) Thompson, Jeffrey (Lynn) Thompson; a daughter, Linda (Jack) Givens; six grandchildren, Elizabeth (Chad) Conley, Rhodes (Meagan) Thompson, Jeremy Givens, Jaimie(Kevin) King, Emily Thompson, Alexandra Thompson; two sisters, Anne Else, Jeanne Moffat; “special son”, David Lykins; and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Rhodes Thompson Jr. and Ryan Thompson.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 16, 11 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Paris. Masks will be required.
