Mary Margaret York Rall
Mary Margaret York Rall, 64, passed away Saturday, September 18, 2021. Mary was born in Chicago, IL, on November 14, 1956, to Mary Stewart Powell and the late Joseph A York. She grew up in Danville, KY, and graduated from Danville High School in 1974, and attended the University of Kentucky. She worked for the Department of Social Services for the Commonwealth of Kentucky for many years.
She is survived by her mother, Mary S, Guerrant and her brother, Joe A. (Kathy) York of Danville, KY and several cousins.
Mary was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Paris where she was a member of the Session and served as treasurer. From an early age she was an animal lover. As an adult she loved American Saddle Bred horses and enjoyed attending shows throughout the year. In her lifetime she loved and cared for many dogs and cats.
Her other interest included researching genealogy and collecting antiques. She generously volunteered her time to several organizations including the Hopewell Museum and the Bargain Box. She was an excellent cook, loved to travel, and a member of the Garden Club.
In her later years she devoted much of her time to the care of her mother. She will be missed by many friends and family.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Perryville Christian Church. The committal service will follow at Bellevue Cemetery in Danville, KY, at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be at the church from 11:00 a.m., Saturday, until the time of the service.
Services are under the direction of Walden Funeral Home Perryville.
