Gloria Jean Dunaway Burkhardt
Gloria Jean Dunaway Burkhardt, 75, wife of Francis “Frank” Leroy Burkhardt, for 57 years, died Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at her home.
She was born in Cincinnati, OH, to the late Leon and Minnie Isaacs Dunaway. Gloria was a homemaker, and a “darn good one” as said by Frank and a long time member of the Catholic Church of the Annunciation, Paris, KY, and also attended the Shrine of Our Lady Guadalupe, Carlisle, KY. She was a member of the Ewalts Homemakers Club, Cynthiana, KY, and loved to travel, having visited several countries all around the world.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Frankie (Jolynn) Burkhardt, Richie (Paula) Burkhardt and Michael Burkhardt; one granddaughter, Ashley (Bradley) Morris; one great granddaughter, Evelyn Morris; two sisters, Deborah Martin and Patricia (Wahid) Mansour; one brother, Shelby (Angie) Dunaway and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one sister, Sheila Krift and a brother, Darrell Dunaway, who died just one day before Gloria.
Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 2, 2021, at the Catholic Church of the Annunciation, 1007 Main St., Paris, KY, by Father Daniel Fister. Burial will follow in the Burkhardt Family Cemetery, Ruddles Mills, KY.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 2, 2021, until the hour of service at the church.
Pallbearers will be Scott Elam, James Elam, Jason Martin, Steve Dee, Bradley Morris and Bucky Hall.
Honorary pallbearer will be Allen Martin, Jr.
