Arthur William Hicks

Arthur William Hicks, 83, of Paris, passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at the Hospice Care Center at St. Joseph Hospital.

Born April 24, 1938, in Perry County to the late William C. and Belva
Cyphers Hicks, he was valedictorian of the Carlisle High School Class of
1957 and a retired employee of I.B.M. International. Arthur loved
watching sports on television and was an avid collector of flea market
“treasures”.

Surviving is a brother, James A. (Jeanette) Hicks, of Lexington, and seven nieces and nephews: Ricky Hicks, Waneyca Gray, Jean Hicks, Pamela Hicks, Allan Rausch, Linda Samples and Kathy David.

Also preceding him in death were three brothers: Herbert, Fred and Aven Hicks, and four sisters: Bernice Hicks, Pauline Hicks, Irene Rausch and Aileen Samples.

Services were held 12:00, noon, Monday, October 11, at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home officiated by James A. Hicks. Burial with military honors followed in Carlisle Cemetery.

Family and friends served as casketbearers.

Visitation was from 11:00 a.m., until the time of service.
