Jerry Wayne Wasson

Jerry Wayne Wasson, 76, husband of the late Janie Pollard Wasson, passed away Friday, October 22, 2021 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.

Born October 7, 1945 in Nicholas County to the late William Reid and Bertha Mae Robinson Wasson, he worked many years as a meat cutter at Carlisle IGA and other local groceries. Jerry loved fishing and hunting, especially deer and turkey.

Surviving are three children: Jerry D. Wasson, of Carlisle, Joey David (Traci) Wasson, of Paris, and Brenda Joyce (Erin) Lamy, of Bourbon County; four brothers and sisters: Jimmy Wasson, of Georgia, Billy Wasson, of Washington, Marlene Simpson, of Versailles, and Joyce Beck, of Tennessee; three grandchildren: Alexis (Zachary) Morris, Tabitha Wasson & Shae (Thomas) Stanfield; and two great-grandchildren, Amberleigh Oney and Johanna Stanfield.

Also preceding him in death were two brothers, Carl and Woody Wasson.

Services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, October 29, 2021 at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home by Bro. Rex Graham with burial following in Carlisle Cemetery.

Casketbearers will be Erin Lamy, Alexis Morris, Zachary Morris, Brandon Oney, Thomas Stanfield and Joey Wasson.

Visitation will be after 5:00 P.M. Thursday.
