Vernon Scott Wagoner, 84, of Amelia, passed away on November 4, 2021. Vernon was born December 6, 1936, in Carlisle, KY, to the late Cecil and Nancye Wagoner.
Loving husband of Esther Wagoner (nee Hults). Beloved father of Johnny Wagoner (Teresa), Kathy Barnhart (Tim), Lisa Long (Mike), Michael Wagoner (Mandy), and Janice Gilpin (Joel). Grandfather of Holly Brothers (Tony), Hope Boshears (Joe), April Long, Scott Wagoner, Courtney Wagoner, Michael Wagoner, Cecilia and Karlye Gilpin. Great-grandfather of Dylan Brothers (Megan), Cody Boshears, Cassidy Brothers, and Nicole Hammons. Brother of Jim Wagoner (Bertha), Jerry Wagoner (Barb), Jewel Humphries (the late Ump), Betty Guthrie (the late Charles), Wanda Wagoner (Eddie), Mac Wagoner (Diana), Brenda Watkins (George), and Rick Wagoner (Jan). Brother-in-law of Margaret Jones (the late Carl), Lois Noble (Larry). Brother-in-law of Paul Hults (Judy).
Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by siblings; Ray “Junior” Wagoner (June), Bill Wagoner (Louise), Maurice Wagoner, Joy Buckler (Jim), and Dean Wagoner.
A public visitation will be held at E.C. Nurre Funeral Home, 177 W. Main St. (St. Rt. 125), Amelia, on Friday, November 12, 2021, from 5:00 p.m., until time of Masonic and Eastern Star service at 8:00 p.m.
A public funeral service will take place Saturday, November 13, 2021, at 10:00 a.m.
