Russell W. Bell III
Russell W. Bell III, 81, husband of Sam Aster-Bell of Berea KY, died Friday, November 26, 2021, at Baptist Health, Richmond, KY.
He was born in Paris, KY, to the late Russell D. Bell and Elizabeth Bramel Stigall. He was a graduate of Paris High School 1958, and attended The University of Kentucky. He worked at National Metals Processing in Richmond, KY, until his retirement. Russell also worked at Carlisle Manufacturing, Law’s Blue Star Nursery and as an announcer for WDPE- Paris Radio Station and as a DJ in high school. He also had many interests and activities including; Bourbon County High School Music Program, Pride of Cincinnati Drum and Bugle Corps, Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps, Music for all/Bands of America, Genella Handbell Choir, American Guild Of English Handbell Ringers-Area V, GWRRA Kentucky (Motorcycle Association, Masonic Temple- Amity Lodge #40). Russell was an avid stamp collector and genealogist and was also a member of the Millersburg United Methodist Church, Millersburg, KY.
He is survived by his children, Sarah B. (Paul) Wilson of Mt. Sterling, KY, Elizabeth B. Garey of Covington, KY, and Frances B. (Samuel) Reynolds of Carlisle, KY. He also is survived by two step sons, Ben Aster and Abraham Aster. Surviving as well is a sister, Suzanne Bell (W.Patrick) Edwards of Franklin, OH. Four grandchildren, Matthew Thomas (Emily) Garey, Sarah Mackenzie (Kyle) Patton, Mary Elizabeth (Jeremy) Matthews and Samuel Cooke Reynolds III, and six great-grandchildren as well as many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his first wife, Sarah Jane Law Bell, he was preceded in death by his children, Eleanor Law Bell and Russell W. Bell IV and one grandson, James “Jimmy” Edward Ginter.
