Wanda Faye Harp Kates, 84, wife of Lloyd M. Kates, died Thursday, November, 25, 2021, at Baptist Health, Lexington Ky.
She was born in Paris KY, to the late William Harry and Carrie Florence Harp. She was a housewife, and also a member of the Ruddles Mills Christian Church Paris, KY. She was also preceded in death by siblings Pete Harp, Pauline Taylor, Ollie Jean Roe, Ellen McClain, Helen Arnold, Larry Ray Harp and Jim Harp as well as four children, Paula Faye Tucker, David Tucker, Sandra Lynn Myers and Karen Kates and one grandchild, Nicholas Kates.
In addition to her husband, he is survived by her children, Pam (John) Roe, Paul “Junior” (Barbara) Groves, James Patrick (Luvena) Motley, Bruce (Pam) Kates, Randy (Connie) Kates, Devonna Kates, and Lloyd (Veronica) Kates Jr. and siblings Harry Clay (Judy) Harp, Linda (Dave) Rice and a sister in law Liz Harp.
She was blessed with multiple grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at the Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home, 1120 Main St., Paris, KY, by Bro Travis Jackson. Burial will follow in the Paris Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m., Monday, November 29, 2021, at The Lusk McFarland Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Tucker, Charlie Tucker, Paul Gene Groves, Blake Combs, Michael Christopher and Howard Soileau.
Honorary pallbearers will be Matt Short, Ben Gnau, Johnny Brumbley, Brandon Rice and Shelby Tucker.
