Gracie Mae Owens Miracle

Gracie Mae Owens Miracle, 80, wife of Dexter Miracle for 64 years as of February 15, 2022, died Sunday, February 20, 2022, at her home in Paris, KY.

She was born in Bell County, KY, to the late Thomas and Roxie Cavins Owens. She was a former J.C. Penny employee, Home Interior Design Sales Representative and a former employee of Hansely Mills sewing factory. Gracie was a member of the River of Life Ministries, Paris, KY, and was a former member of the Spears Pentecostal Church, Paris, KY. She served as a youth leader and led songs at camp meetings.

Gracie loved the Lord and was a devout Christian from an early age. She was raised in Pineville, KY, and made her way to Paris with the love of her life, Dexter, to settle and start a family. Her one and only Sheila, was born to complete their family. Gracie was never seen without a smile. Even in the midst of her pain, she was smiling up until the very end. She was one of the most gracious people I have ever met. Gracie gave the best hugs and truly loved people. Her love for her family an friends is one that I have never seen before. She loved to cheer on the Wildcats and loved when her grandsons, Clayton and Conner would cheer them with her! She made the best homemade fudge, cakes and desserts.

The Miracle family wants to say a special thank you to Hospice of the Bluegrass and Gracie’s nurse, Tina Brown, who did a wonderful job caring for her until the very end.

In addition to her husband, she was also survived by one daughter, Sheila M. Miracle; grandchildren, Jeremy and April Peace and Zachary Peace; grandbabies, Carley, Clayton and Conner Peace; adopted daughters Sandy Conn and Pam Duncan; special friends, Mary Coleman, Dee Cunningham and Lisa Snapp and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by siblings, Jean Snyder, Hazel Rogers, Rosie Cupp, G. Lou Cootes, Leonard Owens and Clifford Owens and a special friend, Glenda Rader.
