Russell Edmund Rudd, 84, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Monday, March 7, 2022 in Lexington. He was born in Paris, Ky., on February 26, 1938 to the late William Dewey and Vellaria Rudd. He was husband to his loving wife of 60 years, Barbara Rudd. Russell was retired after working 34 years at Lexington Building Supply, and at Palumbo Lumber, and most recently at Sam’s Club in Nicholasville. He enjoyed spending time with his family and attended Clintonville Christian Church in Paris. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; his daughter, Heather (Jody) Sparks of Paris; 5 grandchildren (Brandon Troy,
Dylan and Sydney Anderson, Tyler and Morgan Sparks); 3 great- grandchildren; and sister, Eulah Sapp. He is preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Michelle Anderson; and sister, Juanita Vickers. Visitation occured at 10:30 am – 12:30 pm Tues., March 15 at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Rd. Funeral services followed at 12:30 pm Tues. with Brother Mark Sims officiating. Burial was in Lexington Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Lexington Rescue Mission or the Lexington Humane Society.
