Katherine “Kathy” Ragland Lumley

Katherine “Kathy” Ragland Lumley, 54, died Wednesday March 16, 2022 of metastatic breast cancer at home while surrounded by her family.
She was born in Lexington, KY to William A. Ragland and the late Carol Hadden Ragland. She was a homemaker and a member of the Catholic Church of the Annunciation, Paris, KY. Kathy was an avid reader and enjoyed flowers, going to the beach and traveling but her heart was always about spending time with her family.
In addition to her father, she is survived by two children, Preston Liam Lumley and Keira Allison Lumley; ex-husband, Karl Lumley; three sisters, Jeannette (Dudley) Allen-Banta, Lorenda (Jeff) Griffin and Malinda (Tony) Clampitt and several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles, including a special aunt, Linda Linville, who helped Kathy and her family through Kathy’s illness.
Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 AM Tuesday March 22, 2022 at the Catholic Church of the Annunciation, 1007 Main St., Paris, KY by Father Danny Fister. Burial followed in the North Middletown Cemetery.
Visitation was from 5-8 PM Monday March 21, 2022 at the funeral home. A Rosary service was conducted at 7:30 PM.
Pallbearers were Joe Mudd, Tony Ortiz, Tim Shera, Chas Bolton, Rodney Unfried and Darren Linville.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to Camp KESEM, PO Box 642, Lexington, KY 40588.
Kesem is a child’s friend through and beyond a parent’s cancer. Throughout the school year, our Kesem team will fundraise money to send children ages 6-18 who are affected by a parent’s cancer to a free week-long summer camp. This is a student-run organization that welcomes members from all backgrounds.
The funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home, 1120 Main St., Paris, KY.
