Alfrieda Turner Morton

Alfrieda Turner Morton, formerly of Paris, widow of Vernleigh Morton, whom she married on May 1, 1954, departed this life at her home in Lexington, Kentucky, on Sunday, March 20, 2022, having attained the age of 91 years. Alfrieda was born in Paris on July 10, 1930, the daughter of the late Mason and Ida Branham Turner, was a graduate of Paris High School, was an office clerk at Phillip Morris tobacco company, as well as working for Hansley Mill, was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, and formerly of Victory Baptist Church. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Harold Mason Turner, a brother, Bruce Turner, and five sisters, Barbara Taylor, Edna Wingate, Frances Riddell, Elizabeth Steele, and Carrie Bell G

Surviving is a granddaughter, Raelynn Morton; a great grandson, Rashaun Lee Morton; as well as several nieces and nephews; great nieces and great nephews. The family would like to extend a special thanks to her caregivers, Beth Cornett and the staff of Visiting Angels.

he funeral service for Alfrieda Turner Morton was at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home with Dr. Mike James officiating. Interment followed in Paris cemetery with casket bearers being David Kramer, Grant Kramer, Matt Taylor, Nathan Taylor, Chris Brown, Langston Ridgway, and Whitley Ridgway. Honorary bearers are Don Campbell, Don Taylor, Rodney Taylor, Ryan Fliegel, Dave Fliegel, Terry Lee Turner, Brian Stortzum, Jerry Ronald Riddell, and Dennis Wingate. Visitation was at 11:00 a.m. until time for the service.
