Dorcas Jane Kiser Davis

Dorcas Jane Kiser Davis, 95, beloved wife of the late Luther H. Davis gained her angel wings on March 28, 2022.
She was born in Bourbon County on March 6, 1927, to Addie & Miller Ward Kiser. Dorcas was a graduate of Paris High School and then attended University of Kentucky College and began her work career at Bradley, Blanton & Prewitt Attorneys. Dorcas & Luther went on their first date in 1947 and then were married on July 22, 1948. Dorcas then took a job at the circuit clerk’s office under Ms. Anna Mattox, she then became the deputy circuit court clerk under Mabel Frank, then in 1981 Dorcas K. Davis was elected the Circuit Court Clerk for Bourbon County and remained in that position for another 14 years before she retired in 1995.
Dorcas was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, a long-time member of American Legion Auxiliary, as well as the Eastern Star. Not only was Dorcas a beloved mother but she was also a beloved, grandmother (Nannie), and great grandmother.
Dorcas is survived by her two sons Miller (Janie) Davis, Mark (Rebecca) Davis, four grandchildren Chad (Fran) Davis, Eric (Shannon) Davis, Michelle (Daron) Thornsburg, and Sean (Jennifer) Davis, as well as ten great grandchildren.
The funeral service for Dorcas K. Davis will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home with Chaplain Phillip Moody officiating. Interment will follow in Paris cemetery with casket bearers being Eric Davis, Noah Davis, Chad Davis, Michelle Thornsburg, Sean Davis, Trevor Thornsburg, and Dillon Davis. Honorary bearers are Shannon Davis, Kaleb Thornsburg, Emily Grace Davis, Stoney Davis, Maggie Davis, Houston Davis, and Stevie Davis. Visitation will be on Tuesday evening, March 29, 2022, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and after 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to First Presbyterian Church, 517 Pleasant Street, Paris, Kentucky, or Bluegrass Hospice Care, 1317 US-62, Cynthiana, Kentucky 41031.
