Billy James “Cap” Reed
Billy James “Cap” Reed, 68, died Sunday, September 11, 2022, at the Bourbon Community Hospital, Paris, KY.
He was born in Paris, KY to the late Gloria Howard and the late William “Sonny” Reed on March 28, 1954. He was a member of the Seventh Street Christian Church, where he sang in the choir, “Chariots of Fire”. Billy was a retired employee of Square D and a great handyman. His motto was, “one call does it all.” He also loved to climb trees that needed trimming or cutting down and mowing yards. Billy was a good neighbor and friend to all that knew him.
He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife of 36 years, Pamela Ransom Reed; five sons, Tony Kemper, Jose Kemper, Shawn (Jessica) Ransom, Jermaine (Danielle) Ransom, and Jeremy Ransom; four sisters, Barbara (James) Robinson, Vickie Cruse, Maranda Richardson, and Jan Sims; two brothers, Lewis Richardson and Nicholas Richardson; two brothers in law, Richard Ransom and Sam Ransom, Jr.; mother in law, Geraldine Ransom; sister in law, Willene Ransom and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Horatio Kemper.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 17, 2022, at the Seventh Street Christian Church, 122 West 7th St., Paris, KY by Rev. Dr. Morgan Gilkey, Rev. William Garr, and Rev. Aaron Crumbie. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Memory Gardens, Paris, KY.
Visitation will be from 12:00 PM Saturday, September 17, 2022, until the hour of service at the church.
Pallbearers will be Dave Davis, Paul Woods, Michael Woods, Joe Catlett, James Richardson, and Wayne Davis.
Honorary pallbearers will be Nate Ritchie, Jakari Ransom, and Jalen Ransom.
