Joseph Ernest Thompson

Joseph Ernest Thompson,  age 85, on October 3, 2022 at 8;24 am our beloved brother passed away to a better place where there is peace, love and joy. He will be sorely missed by all. Joseph retired from Firestone after 30 years. He also dedicated himself to his racing and remodeling cars. He was the proud owner of Berea Bicycle Shop. All that knew him, knew him as a fun loving and proud man.

Joseph was the son of the late Ben and Amanda Wilson, brother to the late Stella Franklin and John Franklin. He was survived by two sisters, Ella Mae Cunningham (William Deceased) and Ruth Ann Harvell (James), Niece Annette Royster (Reggie), six nephews, cousins and many many friends. We will forever love and miss him very much.

A memorial service was held on Saturday October 8 at 2:00 p.m. at the Baker, Osinski, Kensinger Funeral Home 206 Front St. Berea.

 

Proclamation

Whereas: the community of Berea mourns the loss of Joseph Ernest Thompson; and
Whereas, Joseph was the son of the late Ben and Amanda Wilson, brother to the late Stella Franklin and John Franklin; and
Whereas, Joseph is survived by two sisters, Ella Mae Cunningham (William deceased) and Ruth Ann Harvel (James), niece Annette Royster (Reggie), six nephews, cousins, and many friends; and
Whereas, Joseph retired from the fire station after 30 years; and
Whereas, Joseph dedicated himself to his life of racing and remodeling cars; and
Whereas, Joseph was the proud owner of Berea Bicycle Shop; and,
Whereas, Joseph passed away in a better place where there is peace, love, and joy on Monday, October 3, 2022, at the age of 85; and
Now, therefore, I, Cyril M. Kleem, Mayor of the City of Berea, Ohio, do hereby proclaim, Saturday, October 8, 2022, the day of Joseph’s memorial service as Joseph Thompson Day, so that Joseph Ernest Thompson may be appropriately recognized for his dedication to his family and community, and his living and caring ways, and do thereby call upon the public and businesses to follow the examples so greatly exemplified by Joseph Ernest Thompson.
