Leota Ritchie Fryman
Leota Ritchie Fryman, 96, wife of the late Melvin Fryman, passed away Saturday, October 15, 2022 at Bourbon Heights Nursing Home in Paris.
Born the last child of the late Memphis Rayburn & Effie Mae Snapp Ritchie on August 5, 1926, she was a lifelong resident of Barterville until moving to Bourbon County to live with her daughter in 2014. She was a devoted homemaker and member of the Barterville United Methodist Church. Leota loved taking drives through the countryside with her sisters or even by herself. She was a wonderful cook with a generous, loving nature and greatly enjoyed helping others.
Surviving are Brenda (Ruben “Toby”) Routt and Thomas (Jo) Ritchie; two grandsons, Tracy Routt & Adam Routt; a granddaughter, Brittany Ritchie (Eric) Andrus; four great-grandchildren: Brooklin & Ashley Routt and Rylee & Tobee Andrus.
Also preceding her in death were four brothers: Donnie, Dovolee, Junius & Clestus Ritchie, and three sisters, Anita Clarine Ritchie, Chlotene Steele & Roberta Murrell.
Services will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home by Rev. Vernon Adams and Bro. Jerry Eubanks with burial to follow in Barterville Cemetery.
Casketbearers will be Phillip Mattox, James Ritchie, Thomas Ritchie, Adam Routt, Ruben Routt and Tracy Routt.
Honorary bearers will be Dr. Robert Biddle, Larry Gardner, Delmus Murrell and James Allen Murrell.
Visitation will be after 5:00 P.M. Tuesday.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Barterville United Methodist Church and the Barterville Cemetery.
