Ruby Mae Arnold Hughes

Ruby Mae Arnold Hughes, of Mount Sterling, formerly of Paris, widow of Carl Hughes, Jr., whom she married in 1967, departed this life on Friday, November 25, 2022, in Mount Sterling, Kentucky, having attained the age of 93 years. Ruby was born in Mount Sterling on April 26, 1929, the daughter of the late John Dud and Myrtle Mae Calvert Hughes, attended Little Rock School, worked at Hansley Mill, raised thoroughbred horses with her husband, and was a member of Peyton Lick Christian Church.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her three sisters, Mary Sue Dennis, Clarine Woosley, Nina Mann; brothers, Floyd Arnold, Clarence Arnold, Raymond Arnold, Clay Arnold, John Arnold, and Stanley Arnold. A host of nieces and nephews survive.
The funeral service for Ruby Mae Arnold Hughes will be on at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home with Rev. Chuck Perry officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Paris cemetery with her great nephews being casket bearers and her nieces and nephews being honorary bearers.     I remember my mother talking about her “Aunt Ruby.” She visited the horse farm Ruby owned. My mom was Mary Pauline Arnold (Mack). She was Floyd’s daughter. I am glad my mom lived long enough to know that Ruby had passed.
