Larry Johnson Porter
Larry Johnson Porter, 73, husband of Robin Renee Cianni Porter, died Friday, March 3, 2023 at the VA Medical Center, Lexington, KY.
A native of Paris, KY, he was the son of the late Billy and Hattie Marshall Porter. He retired from IBM after working 30 years and then worked 8 years at Bourbon Heights Nursing Home. He is an Air Force Veteran having served in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, 8th Street in Paris.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Stephanie Porter; one stepson, Artie Myers; four grandchildren, Tizaria Porter, Galen Harris, Desiree Crooks, and Aiden Myers; one sister, Rosetta Marks; mother and father-in-law, Frank J. and Anita Cianni; brother-in-law, Frank Cianni; sister-in-law, Tiffany Cianni; two special friends, Phyllis Barnes and Dorothy Mack; six nieces and nephews, Evelyn Myers, Clyde Marks, Jr., Timmy Marks, Brandon Porter, Chris Porter, and Traven Renner and a number of cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Larry “Bugs” Myers; two brothers, William Robert “Froggie” Strawder and John Sol Porter; one sister, Kim Porter and one brother-in-law, Clyde Marks, Sr.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 PM Friday, March 10, 2023 at the First Baptist Church, 128 West 8th Street, Paris, KY by Rev. John Reese. Burial will be in Camp Nelson National Cemetery, Nicholasville, KY.
Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Friday, March 10th at the church.
